Shots! Shots! Shots!


Wanna feel better immediately? Taking a shot always works for me. Not the kind of shot you might be thinking (although I've been told, those work pretty well too). ;)

An anti inflammatory shot! When I start to feel a little run down or if my immune system just feels like it needs a little kick in the pants, this is my go to shot and I must say, I can feel the effects immediately.

Warning: This shot is potent and tastes that way too!

Anti Inflammatory Shot

Ingredients:

2 small turmeric root knobs

1 knob of ginger root (about 1")

2 organic carrots

1 organic lemon with peel on (omit the peel if your lemon is not organic)

A couple dashes of black pepper (studies have shown that the piperine in black pepper makes the turmeric 2000% more bioavailable)

Optional: Add 1 green apple for a slightly sweeter taste (I like to omit that in mine for less sugar, and because my taste buds are kind of badasses).

Instructions:

Peel turmeric and ginger

Cut all ingredients into to chunks small enough to fit into a juicer

Juice away!

Notes:

Juice the turmeric first, then the carrots, ginger and lemon, then the apple, if you are using it. (I use the lemon last because it helps remove a bit of staining from the turmeric on the juicer attachment).
